Melanie Gregg

 

Melanie completed her PhD in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Western

Ontario in 2005. Since that time she completed a coaching internship through the

Coaching Association of Canada and went on to be a senior lecturer in the applied sport

science program at the University of East London, UK. She now teaches sport and

exercise psychology in the Department of Kinesiology and Applied Health at the

University of Winnipeg .

 

Melanie’s research interests are predominantly in the role of mental imagery in

performance enhancement. She has written several peer reviewed articles and

presented at numerous national and international conferences on the topic. Additionally

she has interests in studying coaching behaviours and correlates of physical activity

participation.

 

As an applied sport psychologist Melanie has consulted with athletes from a variety of

sports including rowing, cross country, track and field, swimming, ice hockey, volleyball

and tennis. She has also been a Manitoba provincial team coach in track and field and

an assistant coach at the University of Western Ontario.
